FAQ

  1.  Get in contact with us via email admin@thevisiongroup.com.au or phone (08) 9358 0480.
  2. Provide us with as much information as you can. For signage, we will need to know the location and an idea of what you had in mind. For vehicles, we will need the make and model of the vehicle, along with the amount of coverage/design you had in mind. Reference photos and any existing logo or graphic files you can provide will be a huge help and streamline the process.
  3. We take this information and provide you with a tailored proposal. This may include a quote and visual proofing. We may call or email you for any additional information we need.
  4. We liaise with you and work to finalise the design, scope of work and price.
  5. Once we receive confirmation to go ahead, we begin production of your graphics and provide you with and installation date

Turnaround times vary for each project. As a general guideline, vehicle wraps and fleet branding projects will be approximately 1-2 weeks from artwork approval. For signage installation projects requiring access equipment, 2 week is the average turnaround time from approval. We are always willing to work within specific timeframes to meet clients deadlines, so please let us know if you have strict timeframes and we can plan accordingly.

The lifespan of a graphic depends on several variables:

1. How well the graphics have been looked after. Dirt and grime can damage graphics over a period of time so it pays to keep them clean.

2. The amount of UV exposure. Graphics on flat surfaces (such as a bonnet or roof) are exposed to significantly more UV than graphics on vertical surfaces. This means that they generally wear down quicker (usually after 2 years). Graphics on vertical surfaces will generally last for at least 5 years.

3. The quality of the vinyl and laminate. We only use high quality vinyl’s and all prints are laminated to improve the lifespan of the graphics.

Yes, we only use industry leading brand names such as Avery Dennison, 3M and Arlon to ensure our clients get maximum life. All digital prints are laminated including one way vision. No graphics are completely safe from UV exposure. Most of our signage will last 5 years on vertical surfaces, and 2 years on horizontal surfaces due to Perth being a solar zone 3.

Yes, we provide a 12 month workmanship warranty on all of our work, providing all upkeeping requirements for the specific job are satisfactory. The product warranty will vary depending on the type of job we have provided. Please view the warranty policies for further information here: Warranty Information

Yes, we are fully insured for public liability.

Spot graphics only cover a small section of the vehicle panel. They are usually cheaper and quicker to apply. Many companies choose to get simple door logos done due to their economic cost and ease.

A vehicle wrap covers a signifcant percentage of a vehicles panels. Wraps must be installed with a specific type of wrap vinyl to ensure the vinyl stays in the curves and recesses of the vehicle. It is a lot more time consuming to design and install a wrap which means it comes with a bigger price tag.

We often do half vehicles wraps as a midway point between spot graphics and a full wrap.

This is one we get asked a lot! And it’s really tricky to give an exact cost simply because every wrap is different. It also depends on the size and complexity of the vehicle body. Half wraps are cheaper than full wraps. So as you can see it really depends on the specific requirements. But here is a VERY rough indication of price points.

Half Digital Print (Commercial design package available)

  • Small vehicle or Hatchback $900 – $1500 +gst

  • Ute or 4WD $1000 – $2000 +gst

  • Van $1500 – $2500 +gst

Full Digital Print

  • Small vehicle or Hatchback $3500 – $4000 +gst

  • Ute or 4WD $4000 – $6000 +gst

  • Van $4000 – $7000 +gst

Colour Change in One Colour (External colour change only)

  • Small vehicle or Hatchback $2500 – $3500 +gst

  • Sedan $3000 – $5000 +gst

  • Ute or 4WD $3500 – $6000 +gst

The best way to find out the price of a wrap is to get in touch with us. Often we can work within your budget and come up with a cost effective solution.

*Prices exclude GST and offer an estimated indication of cost only. Please get in touch with us for confirmation of pricing.

Wrapping is not the solution to cracked, faded or damaged paint. You need a decent paint job to begin with as any imperfections will show through the vinyl. The process of installing a wrap involves placing and re-positioning vinyl repetitively which can result in pieces of paint peeling and sticking to the glue, causing dis-adhesion.

The cost of vehicle wrapping is often around the same price as painting. Price is directly linked to quality, in both circumstances. You may be able to get a cheaper paint job than a vehicle wrap, but the quality and finish will be miles apart.

We don’t do any surface prep so if you do decide to wrap, you will need to arrange for the damaged paint to be buffed. If the wrap is to be applied to the bonnet or roof, it pays to keep in mind these sections get the most UV exposure and will likely need to be replaced after 2 years.

Regular cleaning of you graphics is very important as dirt and grime can destroy graphics over time. We recommend using mild detergent to wash your vehicle following installation. Do not use any harsh chemicals or abrasives as they will destroy the media. We highly recommend the Avery Wrap Cleaning kit (which we sell).

Any contaminants such as gasoline should be cleaned off immediately. Even the smallest drop of gasoline should be wiped away as soon as possible with a wet towel. Mechanical washes of any type are not advised and will void your warranty.

We only use high quality vinyls and all prints are laminated to improve the lifespan of the graphics.

We recommend rotating your vehicle parking each day so that one side of the graphics isn’t significantly exposed to more UV than the other side. We recommend to park under cover or shade wherever possible to get the most life out of the graphics.

Vinyl is not designed to last forever. After a period of 5 years we highly recommend having your wrap assessed by one of our skilled vinyl wrappers, to inspect the condition and see if it is due to be removed.

Surfaces such as the roof and bonnet should be assessed after a period of 2 years due to high exposure to the Australian sun’s UV rays.

There are a couple of reasons we recommend this:

1. Removal of the graphics will be easier if they are not too far gone (costing you less for the removal).

2. If vinyl is left to deteriorate, you run the risk of paint damage underneath the vinyl (which is not covered by our warranty).

We strongly advise against using pressure washing on your graphics, and doing so will void your warranty. At close range you run the risk of the pressure tearing off your graphics. If you insist on using a high pressure cleaner, stand at least 2m back and do not spray from an acute angle. Keep the gun at a 90 degree angle to avoid the pressure going between the paint and vinyl.

35% is the darkest legal film that may be applied to the front driver and passenger windows. A darker 20% film is only legal on the back half of the vehicle and rear screen.

For vehicles and machinary we use LLumar window tint, and have done so for many years because it is exceptionally good to work with and offers excellent quality for our customers. We do not use cheap alternatives because they simply do not last.

For flat glass we use Hanita Pacific films, but may use other brands depending on the specified finish required.

Window tint is expected to last for a period of 10 years

Yes, we only use industry leading brand names such as Avery Dennison, 3M and Arlon to ensure our clients get maximum life. All digital prints are laminated including one way vision. No graphics are completely safe from UV exposure. Most of our signage will last 5 years on vertical surfaces, and 2 years on horizontal surfaces due to Perth being a solar zone 3.

Please do not wind down your windows for a period of at least 48 hours to allow the film to dry.

DO NOT try to pop or push down the bubbles. Window tint is a wet fit product which means we use water in between the film and glass. Normally the water will evaporate within a period of 2-4 weeks (depending on the weather). A small amount of bubbles is normal and should disappear within this time frame. If you notice the bubbles after this time period please contact us.

We prefer to install window tint at our workshop as we are able to control the amount of dust and wind in the area. If we tint on location we cannot guarantee that small particles of dust will not get trapped in the film. We do however provide a vehicle collection service if you are based locally to our workshop.

Tinted films are not allowed on the main part of the windscreen. A visor strip may cover no more than 10% of the windscreen area.

Please refer to our warranty statement which can be found at the bottom of our web page.

We use a combination of mediums to create our signage.

Almost all of our building signs are made from ACM (Aluminium Composite Material) panels – which is basically a Polyethylene core sandwiched between 2 thin aluminium panels. ACM panels are more rigid than the traditionally used sheet metal (or signwhite) and will last much longer.

We apply cut vinyl or digitally printed vinyl to the sign panels.

Some other materials we commonly use to construct signs include acrylic, steel, aluminium, coreflute etc.

Pretty much all of our signs are completely custom size. The ACM panels do come in standard sheet sizes as follows, however they can be cut down to suit.

2440 x 1220

3050 x 1500

4000 x 1500

In some cases it is possible for us to supply the signage to you, and you can arrange installation. We generally only recommend this when the client has some prior knowlegde of basic installation practices.

In most sittuations, it is easier, safer and more efficient for us to install the signage for you.

Yes, we install signage on a regular basis. Our installers are trained to safely and accurately install signage correctly. They all have working at heights clearances and training in electronic working platform operation.

In most cases, council approval is not required for graphics and signage. Permanent structures will need to be approved by council (for example pylon and monolith structures). We can provide all information required to seek approval, including engineer drawings and scaled proofs.

You will need to gain permission to use any copywrited images in your signage. You can purchase copywrite from various online stock image sites. An alternative is to take your own high resolution images.

Absolutely! We have a complete graphic design service, including logo design. We can build a logo from scratch, just let us know what elements and colours you would like to include.

Yes! We have a complete design service. Which basically means we can set you up from nothing! Just let us know what you are after and we will do up visual proofs.

We work in Adobe Illustrator, which means we need PDF Vector files. Or EPS files. Please don’t confuse this with a jpeg dropped in to Illustrator and saved as a PDF. In most cases we can work with a high resolution jpeg, just depends on the quality of the image.

This is a tricky one. But to simplify the process, check the image properties.

1. Right click on the image and select “Properties”.

2. Click the “Details” tab.

3. Check the image dimensions. If it’s over 2000 it’s a good start.

4. Check the resolution. Ideally it should be 300dpi.

In saying this there is a chance the image will still be low resolution. Another way to check is to send the image to us and we can let you know if we can print it or not!

We use the Pantone Matching System (PMS) to ensure colours are accurate. In most cases if the PMS colours are supplied to us they will be printed the right colour. Sometimes when matching PMS colours to vinyl colours there is a slight difference, in which case we usually ask the client to sign off on the colours before production.

Colours are a tricky thing! And because every colour can look different between print and screen, we use the Pantone Matching System (PMS) to try and limit any discrepancies. Why are colour standards so important? A brand’s colour ends up being its calling card, and creates strong association, triggering images and memories. Studies show that the right colour can increase brand recognition by up to 87%! That’s why we work with our clients to ensure their colours are just right!
